Here are just a few examples of our work:
Research Understanding the MMR Journey - The National Social Marketing Centre (Consumer Focus) Community Research undertook the design and facilitation of a workshop with London Primary Care Trust immunisation leads. The research examined the typical customer journey through the NHS with regard to MMR vaccination, with a view to identifying ways forward to increase uptake through targeted social marketing activity. The National Social Marketing Centre went on to develop campaigns to increase MMR uptake in London, informed by this vital feedback from those working at the frontline within London PCT's. The Impact of the Recession on Graduates and Large Employers - The Inspirational Development Group Community Research was commissioned to undertake a combined qualitative and quantitative study of Graduates and HR Managers within large organisations (those with 500 or more employees). The study sought to get behind the headlines regarding graduate recruitment and retention and to really understand the impact that the current recession might be having. The findings suggested that whilst graduates remain highly valued by employers, the current economic climate is temporarily creating a high graduate retention rate. The research suggested that large employers may well face a peak in the turnover of their young talent as the economy recovers. You can read an article about this research here. |
Engagement Collaboration in Campaign Development - Arts Council England Arts Council Workshop in Progress Community Research designed and ran a creative collaborative workshop bringing together members of the public and arts professionals to discuss and generate ideas for a new national engagement campaign. The workshop allowed campaign stakeholders and the key target audience to work together and to generate campaign ideas. This innovative approach also led to the development of some agreed core principles for the Arts Council to bear in mind as the individual elements of the campaign continue to be developed. Participatory Budgeting - Leicestershire County Council and Blaby District Council Community Research helped Leicestershire County Council to incorporate deliberation into its participatory budgeting process. The Council had set aside specific funds for participatory budgeting exercises to be carried out within each local Community Forum across the county. We supported the Councils to develop a deliberative process to allow citizens to generate spending ideas and input their priorities for the three Blaby forums. You can find a full case study of this work on the Participatory Budgeting Unit's website here.

Consultation Consulting Stakeholders - COI / Department of Health / Home Office COI / Department of Health / Home Office – Alcohol Strategy Consultation Community Research was commissioned by COI, on behalf of the Department of Health and the Home Office to deliver a series of regional stakeholder consultation events that took place in Bristol, Liverpool, Newcastle and London. The events were designed to support the formal consultation process to the Government's alcohol harm reduction strategy paper 'Safe, Sensible, Social - Consultation on Further Action'. The potential courses of action contained in the strategy were wide ranging and the various stakeholders that needed to be consulted came from diverse perspectives - those manufacturing and selling alcohol were bound to have a different view from health care and criminal justice professionals. The challenge within this project then, was to design an event that could gather the feedback from all of the various stakeholders, ensuring that everyone had a broad understanding of the challenges faced by Government. The responses to the consultation, including the regional events can be found here. |
