The GMC commissioned some qualitative research to supplement the findings of previously conducted quantitative research into doctors' perceptions of the guidance published by the GMC. They specifically wished to explore the triggers and barriers to use and preferences in terms of accessing the materials. Three group discussions were held with doctors (from range of backgrounds and disciplines) in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The Standards and Ethics Committee has considered the findings of the research and made some recommendations as to how the organisation should respond.
