Hastoe Housing Association has a clear vision to ‘lead in the creation of sustainable homes and sustainable communities'. As part of this, Hastoe commissioned a research project to help the organisation to drive forward the rural affordable housing agenda, by reviewing and evaluating the impact of Hastoe's homes on rural communities. The research comprised desk research, qualitative and quantitative research with new residents, staff workshops and the production of a community film - which you can view below.

The research was used directly to inform Hastoe Housing Association's strategic development, providing some specific recommendations in terms of partnership working, shared ownership schemes, resident involvement and the repercussions of a number of key national policy changes.
